501 (c ) (3) Received
The MCA Foundation, Inc.'s application for tax-exempt status has been granted by the Internal Revenue Service, with an effective date of May 22, 2006. The status now makes the non-profit Texas corporation available to receive donations which can qualify as a deduction as a charitable donation. Please see the article elsewhere in this Newsletter for the story about our first corporation donation!
MCA Co-Founder Taking A New Role
MCA Co-Founder, and Crime Stoppers creator Greg MacAleese is stepping-down from the original board of directors of MCA Foundation, Inc. He will become a non-voting member of the MCA Foundation's "Advisory Board". As a result of his warm reception at the Crime Stoppers Annual Training Conference in Albuquerque this October 2-6, Greg will be doing a lot of traveling around the world and making appearances at Crime Stoppers events and celebrations. He continues to work on his book on the history of Crime Stoppers, and a couple of very special projects. We thank Greg MacAleese for creating the "Crime Stoppers" program, and for his contributions to the establishment of this Foundation.
